What makes a well-rounded and specialized beauty public relations agency or firm? This is an interesting question given the every changing media landscape. It’s also a question that leads to a very long and in-depth response. Given that we aren’t writing a book on the subject, we will keep our response rather brief and touch on a few of our thoughts and ideas. The question is also broad, so other beauty PR firms and agencies will have their own beliefs on the topic. There is no right or wrong retort.

Stability

No matter how rapidly the media and retail world change, it’s important for a specialized beauty PR agency to maintain stability. Stability brings a calm platform for both the publicist and her/his clients. There is nothing worse on the client side than working with a PR firm or public relations freelancer who works in an unstable manner. Beauty public relations cannot jump from one trend to the next.

One week you are telling your clients to create content for Snapchat, and the next week you instruct them to focus more on Instagram - that is not stable. The best specialized beauty PR agencies in the US create a fluid roadmap and groundwork for all of their clients for brand success. PR can’t pop up each week with something groundbreaking and new to try. Instead, all of the media avenues are incorporated with long term goals.

Communication

This may be obvious, but honest communication is another pillar of specialized beauty and Fashion PR public relations. Both clients and PR must know how to effectively communicate with each other.
